A new worshipping community, Story Haven, will begin meeting at Ward Parkway on Third Thursday evenings.
Overview
Story Haven is a vibrant community dedicated to sharing and celebrating personal stories of faith, doubt, life, and experience. Rooted in Core principals of authenticity, connection, community and creativity, Story Haven seeks to foster deeper relationships with God and with one another. Through diverse storytelling formats such as spoken word, music and visual arts, we aim to make faith relevant, accessible, and meaningful for all. This project integrates storytelling into worship, community gatherings, and outreach to create a supportive and dynamic environment for spiritual growth.
Goals
1: Create a welcoming community: Build an inclusive environment where individuals feel safe to share personal stories, reflecting authentic struggles and triumphs in their faith journeys.
2: Deepen Connections: Use stories as a bridge to connect scripture with personal and communal experiences, making faith more relatable and impactful.
3. Encourage Artistic Expression: Foster creative outlets for storytelling through various artistic forms, such as music, visual arts, drama, and poetry.
4. Expand Outreach Efforts: Engage with the broader community by sharing stories beyond the church, partnering with local organizations to support healing and connection through storytelling.
